Democracy at the Crossroads

The United States is often described as a “democracy”, but this is in error. It is a Democratic-Republic meaning that it is a republic with democratically elected representatives. Representatives are ideally responsible and responsive of the constituents they serve with the power that the electorate gives.

Political operations evidence a far different story, one where the ability to circumvent electorate’s mandates are applied to transfer the prosperity of liberty to agents of ambition and greed. This can be seen in the outcomes of political conflicts where compelling evidence of electorate position is discarded in favor of political pressures from business, industry, and wealthy benefactor.

This party is founded on the protection of the people’s right to Direct their government, and not be forced to abrogate this power to those unwilling to serve the people exclusively. To this goal of true democratic process, we are building a party that is founded on respect for the democratic process and not on loyalty or influence.

Key to enabling a true democratic process is the education and participation of the electorate. Education means providing reliable and honest information based on factual data. Where errors are made, a rapid and honest re-evaluation will be made to correct and amend policies affected. Every citizen will have the ability to express their position on every issue they want to participate in. Mechanisms to foster discussion and consensus building will be endorsed to ensure that each decision has full understanding and acceptance by whatever margin is needed without exception.

There will be claims of “unconstitutional” and “un-American” as well as more directed name calling, but that should be expected from those whose entire success rides on deception and manipulation of the american people and democracy. These are the agents and forces that the people need to defeat to bring a better more sustainable future to the citizens of the United States.
